Research Funding
The drug discovery landscape is such that every company has its own specific requirement for research outsourcing and collaborative programs. With this in mind, we try to accommodate all companies interested in working with us and fit into their research strategy and their financial position. Three main funding schemes are in place:
Standard contract Research
Ambitious drug discovery programs require dedicated, multi-talented teams in order to achieve results. Metabrain currently has 25+ FTEs covering all the areas of the drug discovery process which can be called upon to take charge of integrated programs (chemistry, biology, pharmacology) as well as more specific medicinal chemistry or biological profiling demands on a Fee-for-Service basis.
Milestone-based research
Metabrain Research is more than a drug discovery service provider as our teams play an active role at creating value and generating intellectual property. Metabrain also offers exploratory research project to its partners. Therefore, research programs under our responsibility or leadership are amenable to funding mechanisms that reduce the impact of unsuccessful programs to our partners, by funding research at a reduced FTE-rate in exchange of milestone payments when project reach pre-defined endpoints.
Collaborative programs
We are actively seeking partners with complementary expertise and common interests to develop new research tools and explore the connections between diseases such as Diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, through collaborative research programs.
