Our offers
Partnering with all the stakeholders of life sciences and pharmaceutical research
The PRO vision of research implies being active in the three components of drive scientific innovation: Basic Research, Drug discovery and the development of new experimental tools. Therefore our research focuses on two activities, exploratory research on one hand and drug discovery (hit-to-lead, lead optimization) on the other. The research tools we contribute to inventing can be done in both contexts.
Basic Research
It’s not common for biotechs or CRO do carry-out basic research and this another reason why we are a PRO. There are some questions that we feel are burning and we cannot afford to wait for others to find out. Therefore we directly fund projects carried-out in public laboratories and we collaborate in research consortium financed by ANR, OSEO, FUI and European community.
Most of our research focuses on applying diabetic models to the study of CNS disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. We are particularly interested in the effect of diabetes on the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
We would gladly discuss with potential partners, public or private, regarding the current projects and opportunities for projects in the making.
Drug Discovery
Our drug discovery activity can operate either in an “integrated” fashion, with medicinal chemistry, biology and pharmacology assays done within a given research program, or in an independent fashion, when partners only require specific chemistry, biology or pharmacology work.
Our integrated preclinical research centre is designed for optimal hit to lead and lead optimization processes. Chemist and biologist can interact easily and this facilitates the optimization rounds, by better planning & fine-tuning of research programs and brainstorming the structural optimization of compounds. Having all the aspects of the process in one place also speeds programs up, as molecules can be tested on both in vitro and in vivo assays on the day they are synthesized.
We can operate on a contract research basis and also have early stage programs to propose to our partners for collaborative research. Do get in touch to find our more.
Experimental Tool Development
Metabrain Research is an active member of several public-private partnerships (PPP) studying the connections between metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders. The establishment of new experimental models (both in vitro and in vivo) are either endpoints or necessary milestones to these programs.
In addition, partners come to us with specific needs, in particular with questions concerning diabetes or obesity, and in these cases, we will often gladly develop the necessary model as part of our collaboration.
